The Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church was displaced from Calgary as a result of the LRT expansion. The Church decided to get a fresh start with a brand new building which would be rooted in their unique tradition and style. The layout and geometry are derived from the theology and incorporate seven domes and twelve columns with the altar placed on the site to allow for future expansion for additional community functions. The marble baptismal font was custom designed as well.
